We have included an example text (CALIFORNIA.txt) file for you and will guide you through its layout:
[FileType001]
Title=CALIFORNIA-DATABASE
LAYOUT=DISTRICT,20,TOTAL-REVENUE,18,TOTAL-EXPENDITURES,11,NET-OTHER-I-O,18,TOTAL-REVENUE-II,18,TOTAL-EXPENDITURES-II,18,NET-OTHER-I-O-II,18,REVENUE-HIGH,16,REVENUE-LOW,20,TOTAL-NET,22
[FileType001] is the first entry in your layout definition, it means that this is the first record definition in "QryTxt.INI" and there may be more records to be defined. In such a case just copy that field and increment its number to [FileType002], please.
Title=CALIFORNIA-DATABASE
Title=CALIFORNIA-DATABASE is the second entry in your layout definition; it describes the kind of information that you like to filter on. Here you may enter any title that you like but it should not be repeated in additional record definitions.
LAYOUT=
Now the time has come to really specify the body and structure of your database.
Please observe that you may not use a particular title twice...
Note: For best results, please pre-format your Microsoft Office Excel worksheet as "TEXT" in order to inform Excel NOT TO EVALUATE the data during the import of your resultsât By doing so you will be able to sort times and/or dates any way you like...
The easiest way to create your "QryTxt.INI" file is to open Microsoft Office Excel and select cell A1, please. Enter your title and reserve as many placeholders as you like using "Blanks" or "Spaces" until a total of twenty characters is reached, according to the record definition in our example. Please repeat this procedure for your next record in cell B1 to cell J1. Now, simply save your workbook as: "Formatted Text (Space delimited) (*.prn)" and already all parameters regarding their Layout-definitions are set.
